DIY Date Passport & Date Ideas

Date Passport & Date Ideas
My boyfriend and I have been together for almost 4 years. We always like to eat, drink, and explore new things! Sometimes it seems like we go somewhere to eat and go "I'll have the usual" or "Haven't we been there already? 3 times? in the last month?" Now don't get me wrong I love going to my usual spots [COZY CORNER DINER in CHICAGO] but I also like to explore new areas. Also, I want to stop saying, "let's go on a date" and it automatically tricks my brain to say, "which restaurant do I want to go to?"
The solution to my problem you say? EASY! Make a date passport. Too cheesy? probably. But this is a great way to STOP spending like 30 minutes deciding on what to do, and great way to check out new things within your vicinity.

MATERIALS: Small notebook [you can also make your own], Markers/Colorful Pens/Stickers, Paper [for writing down ideas], Internet.
All you need to do is do some research first! What do YOU like to do? What does your significant other like to do? Sporting events? Restaurants? Parks? Zoos? Beach? Breweries? Use the paper to write down places and Ideas. They don't have to be actual places, you can just jot down... fly a kite at the park and BOOM fun day at the park date. Personalize the book the way you want it! Mine had some writing on the front so I just put some masking tape and wrote on top it. The last page is our initials and date we started dating.
Where to else to research?

Simple Canvas Projects

I have made MANY canvas painting in my life, some I love, some I cover with paint immediately after I paint them! [LOL] If you have an empty space or if you simply want to brighten your room with a little sparkle or hint of color, canvas art is a MUST! it's so easy to do!

First you get your materials, DUH!
A canvas, or many what ever you want. @ any craft store, they usually have good deals at all, either 50% off or BOGO. Also, get some paint, acrylic works fine, doesn't have to be expensive, I always get those .97 ones and they actually work just as good as those other brands. Third, get some brushes, also could be any type, doesn't have to be those super expensive ones either!

GET INSPIRATION! ITS OKAY, i repeat, IT IS OKAY to go to pinterest and google some inspiration, That's what those websites are for. I get most of my inspiration on pinterest, but sometimes I google here and there. It is totally okay to copy something or get then idea for a certain canvas and then make it your own with your unique touch!

SOME OF MANY [some are unfinished]

Tribute to CHICAGO!

Google or Pinterest a place near and dear to your heart, or simply where you live. Make it your own, use glue, get dirty. MAKE IT YOURS!! [this is not done yet.]

Take art classes!

I took an art class when I attended college, also there are MANY great art class places that are popping up literally EVERYWHERE! Take one, they are fun, take it with a friend and bring wine for a GREAT time!

RANDOMS & STENCIL

I used a stencil for the pattern at the bottom, and to be honest just paint anything you like, if you see a symbol, a heart, a music note, a flower, honestly anything as the focus of it, USE IT!!!! It will be great promise. [U see my jewelry box there? nice huh?]

MORE INSPIRATION! Use paper and google pictures. seriously these both are from pinterest post I had seen, and I decided to execute!

Whatever it is you decide to do, make sure you have FUN with it! Relax and get to painting. :)
